Diamond Platnumz has landed two nominations for the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards, which have just been announced.

Diamond will battle it out for the Artist of the Year and Best Lockdown Performance categories. For the big one, he'll come up against some of Africa's top musicians like Nigeria's Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage.
And in the newly added pandemic-inspired Alone Together category, his performance at the Africa Day Benefit Concert has been nominated alongside AKA's AKA TV and Yemi Alade's Poverty Live Session.
Other major East African nominees for the awards include Kenyans Khaligraph Jones, Sauti Sol and Ethic. And representing the show's host country Uganda, Sheebah has received two nominations.
