Actress Wema Sepetu disclosed to fans that she had turned 30 on September 28, 2020.

While doing so, the lass revealed that she has always lied about her age but not anymore.
“Miaka 30 malaika, niliahidi kusema ukweli kuhusu siku yangu. Septemba 28 mwaka 1990 nilitoka tumboni mwa mama yangu Mariam Athuman Sumbe, nina furaha kusheherekea miaka 30 ya maisha yangu, samahani nilidanganya.” She wrote.

It should be noted Wema participated in the Miss Tanzania 2006 and claimed to be 19 then.
However, with her recent revelation, it has emerged she was 16 when she participated in the beauty pageant and not 19 as she claimed.
According to BASATA, it is illegal for anyone to participate in such competitions before turning 18.
“Suala la umri wa Wema tayari tumeshaanza kulifanyia kazi ikiwemo kumuita kwa ajili ya kumhoji, na kwa sababu inahusisha na mamlaka nyingine kuthibitisha umri wa mtu (akimaanisha Wakala wa Ufilisi, Vizazi na Vifo- Rita), tayari tumeshawasiliana nayo, wanaifanyia kazi, hapo baadaye mtapata majibu ni hatua gani zitachukuliwa baada ya hapo ila kwa sasa lipo kiofisi zaidi,” BASATA’s top official Mngereza said.
If indeed Wema was 16 when she took part in the pageant, then she is at risk of facing the law, the hard way.
